Assessing the skip-hop Skipping Awards
An assessment tick sheet is provided for each participating skipper or group of skippers which is completed as the skipper achieves each level. The assessor can then order certificates and badges if required which will be dispatched immediately.
The skip
For the skip challenges, the assessor will need to evaluate the skipper on three main criteria. It is very important for the assessor to familiarise themselves with all safety points as constant adherence to them by the skipper throughout the award attempt is crucial and as much a part of the skip-hop Awards as the actual skips.
The skip - execution of the move
1. Did the skipper complete the move either in isolation or as part of a routine without misses? 2. Did the skipper complete the move successfully within the stipulated number of turns of the rope? 3. Did the skipper adhere to all safety aspects throughout the attempt?
The link
For the link levels, the assessor will need to evaluate the skipper on three main criteria. Again, it is very important for the assessor to familiarise themselves with all safety points as constant adherence to them by the skipper throughout the award attempt is crucial and as much a part of the skip-hop Awards as the actual link routines.
The link - execution of the routine
1. Did the skipper execute the requisite number of skipping moves without misses? 2. Did they include any skips they weren’t meant to? 3. Did the skipper adhere to all safety aspects throughout the attempt?
